Who is Jesus?
These days, there are many misconceptions about who Jesus Christ is and what He came to do. Let's take a moment to search the Scriptures and see what they say about Him and His work; what follows is the Gospel in brief...
Jesus Christ is God’s only Son and one of the clearest passages of Scripture on what He did for us is found in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” It is here that we see that eternal life – true and lasting life that is so much more than what passes for life in this world – is only found by placing our trust in Jesus Christ. Why do we need to trust Christ? Because as we see in Romans 3:23 “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” We can’t measure up to God’s standards (He’s perfect, after all; and none of us can ever come close to being perfect) but we also don’t have to do the impossible if we trust in the perfect work that His Son did on our behalf. It is as simple making the decision in your heart and mind to turn away from trusting in the things of this world (money, power, family, etc.) and placing your trust in the only One who can ultimately save you – Jesus Christ.
